Officer Bill Downey went around the department asking for donations to replace the missing money.

When all was said and done, he had collected $1,000 for the woman, who works two jobs to support herself.

Police told AZCentral that they collected the money so she could “take it easy this Christmas.”

They gave it to the woman at the same store where her money was allegedly taken, AZCentral reported.
